CALM
This is the personal website of Steve Collins, leadership coach and organisational development facilitator, trading under the name 'The CALM Network'. I first set up CALM in 2004 with a mission to to spread Coaching, Action Learning and Mentoring in organisations.
I am a vastly experienced and qualified coach who has worked primarily in the Higher Education Sector since 1995. However, I have also worked with many organisations in the private sector through my previous experience with the Industrial Society (then the UK's biggest training provider) and my own company, Ventures Training. I am also actively involved in training new coaches (ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring).

My preferred definition of Coaching is that it "unlocks people’s potential to maximise their own performance - it is about helping them to learn rather than teaching them". I bring a coaching approach to my organisational development work and I am skilled facilitator of appreciative inquiry, open space, world cafe and action learning events.
Following my involvement with London 2012 Olympics I am also working with a group of fellow Training Event Volunteers and Games Makers to develop training programmes for volunteers.
